Pigskins in the Park to feature four games
TUPELO - Saturday’s free tailgating event in Fairpark will feature four SEC football games. Pigskins in the Park will kick off at 11:21 a.m. with a live broadcast of the Arkansas at Vanderbilt game. The game will be shown on a jumbotron in front of City Hall. The screen has been optimized for daytime and night-time viewing, according to information from the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association. Downtown Tupelo sets busy fall schedule
TUPELO – Downtown Tupelo’s schedule of events is filling up quickly. The association’s board on Tuesday announced the dates and details for the major events for the rest of the year. Many of the activities are free. • Tickets for Hops & Stops go on sale Monday at various downtown retailers. Tickets are $20 in advance and entitle the ticketholder at least 14 beer samples and food pairings, plus a commemorative glass. The event is Nov. 3 and sold out last year. Tupelo gets more guitar sculptures
TUPELO - More guitar sculptures were installed Friday around Tupelo. The newest painted metal guitar sculptures are in front of the Downtown Tupelo Main Street office on Broadway Street, CREATE, the Regions branch on Green Street, the Tupelo Automobile Museum, the Renasant Center for IDEAs and Johnnie’s Drive-In. “Our mission was to have them in areas along downtown and in the corridor from downtown to the birthplace,” said Debbie Brangenberg, executive director of the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association. Trustmark opening new corporate office in Fairpark!
TUPELO – Trustmark Bank will open a new Tupelo corporate office in the Fairpark District by the end of the year. The Jackson-based bank is leasing an 11,152-square-foot space in the Fairpark Crossing building once occupied by the now-folded Stanford Financial Group, which collapsed in early 2009. The property was bought by Tupelo Furniture Market Chairman and CEO V.M. Cleveland earlier this year in an auction for $750,000. Trustmark will lease the space from Cleveland for an undisclosed price.
